Le titulaire de ce diplôme est peintre décorateur. Il exerce ses activités dans une entreprise du secteur de l’aménagement et de la finition du bâtiment. Outre la pose de revêtements spécifiques (peinture notamment), il réalise des finitions décoratives : imitations de marbres et de bois, trompe-l’oeil, applications de dorure… Il sait déterminer les matériels et les produits à utiliser. Sa formation esthétique lui permet de conseiller la clientèle sur le choix des produits et accessoires, l’harmonie des couleurs et l’aménagement décoratif des locaux. Son intervention peut se faire à partir de directives impliquant la lecture de dossiers, l’exploitation d’un projet de décoration et la tenue de documents d’exécution. Sur un chantier, il est autonome et responsable de son travail.
